Facebook Marketplace Jewelry Sale Ends in Armed Robbery

By Jordan Reyes. Oct 15, 2026

A jewelry sale arranged through Facebook Marketplace ended in an armed robbery at a Tennessee home and a police pursuit, according to Franklin police.

Officers were called just after 11 p.m. on Oct. 9 to a home in northeast Franklin. Investigators connected the robbery to jewelry advertised on the online marketplace.

Three men were arrested after officers located their vehicle a short time later, police said. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

Officers Pursued the Vehicle

The suspects had left the home before officers found them, according to the police account reported by Williamson Source and The Tennessee Star. Officers pursued the vehicle and took all three men into custody.

Police identified them as Ivan Lagos-Espinoza, 22, and Jose Paiz-Godoy, 23, both of Nashville, and Rubel Rodriguez-Lisa, 19, of Lebanon.

All three face felony charges that include aggravated robbery, felony evading and tampering with evidence. Those charges remain allegations.

A Warning About Online Exchanges

Following the arrests, Franklin police urged people arranging online sales to choose busy, well-lit public places for an exchange. The department suggested considering a police department as a meeting location and bringing another person when possible.

The publicly reported account does not explain every step between the listing and the robbery. Police said the investigation remains open.
