A 39-year-old mother ran into a Georgia Chick-fil-A looking for help after authorities say her daughter attacked her during a road trip home to Wisconsin. Two young children were still inside the car when the daughter allegedly drove away.

Shyanniah Ma’Ree Johnson, 21, has been charged with aggravated assault under Georgia’s Family Violence Act and two counts of child cruelty in connection with the Aug. 20 incident in Acworth. Authorities say the mother survived, and the children were not physically injured.

Their vehicle exited the highway and pulled into the parking lot of a Chick-fil-A on Highway 92 near Acworth.

Investigators say the dispute continued inside the vehicle and became violent. Authorities allege Johnson repeatedly attacked her mother before the injured woman managed to get out of the vehicle and run inside the restaurant for help.

The mother was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and was later released.

The two children were unharmed and were placed in the custody of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services.
