Savannah Guthrie appealed again for information about her missing mother on November 1, sharing a drawing made by her daughter as the search entered a ninth month. Investigators also consulted outside forensic specialists about further DNA work. Authorities had not announced an arrest or identified a perpetrator.
A Disappearance That Became a Kidnapping Investigation
Nancy was last seen on the evening of January 31 and was reported missing from her Tucson-area home the next day. Investigators have said they believe she was taken against her will. The FBI has treated the case as a kidnapping investigation, and authorities have sought information from the public while pursuing physical and digital leads.
In late October, officials consulted forensic specialists in Florida about additional DNA-analysis approaches. No new DNA match or suspect identification was announced.
Savannah Appeals Again
Savannah’s November 1 appeal included a drawing by her young daughter and a renewed request that anyone with information come forward. It was another public attempt to reach someone who might know where Nancy is.
The Investigation Remains Open
Investigators have examined surveillance footage, reported ransom communications and forensic material. No arrest had been announced as of November 4, and authorities had not established what happened to Nancy after she disappeared.
